Fresh off my brain: House Finale

I am not a critic, I do not remember things that happened years ago to a character, and I what I say isn’t necessarily important. This post will not make you believe my views, which may or may not even be correct. All I know is that I just watched the final episode of a beautiful show – an intelligent show, and I have a few thoughts about it which are probably really obvious already. But that doesn’t matter. I am going to go ahead and be ‘Captain Obvious’ because I just feel like it, people.

David Shore and Katie Jacobs, creators and showrunners of House, are never bored with House. 8 seasons of him and their still not done learning about him. And isn’t that how you feel after watching the ending? That even though they practically spread out what makes House House on the floor of a burning building, we have no idea. That’s what makes Gregory House great. I never knew how Chase, Wilson, Foreman, and Cameron could just go “because that’s what House wants us to think” in ever episode. I never got that, maybe because I was naive but honestly not knowing just made watching House so much more better of an experience.

[SPOILER ALERT] When he “died” in that building, I knew that wasn’t it. There was no way that could just be it. Then he lived, because he “went out from that the back”, like it was so simple. He picked friendship over escaping the pain even though Wilson is going to die – which by the way, I am so glad they didn’t show us; that would not be a fun ending. We know that Wilson has five months to live, but isn’t it nice remembering House as best friends riding off in their sick motorcycles? I’m feeling pretty grateful about that.

The finale, like every other series finale, brought back the old and the dead for one last hurrah. They hit through every check point of bringing the show back full circle by talking about House’s care for the puzzle only and mentioning time and time again that ‘Everybody lies’. They tied up all the loose ends and showed us how life went on for everybody else. David Shore, Hugh Laure, and Katie Jacobs gave us closure AND endless possibilities to do whatever we want with House and Wilson.

The part where he faked died and then lived his life as a dead man to be there for Wilson was genius and made Wilson so happy. In a way though, I feel like we could take that and make it bigger. Imagine you, the audience, as Wilson and House representing the show in general – and that’s basically what I think about the ending.

My emotions/thoughts throughout the course of the finale went from denial, to scared, to sad, to bewildered, and then to happy (but still slightly bewildered – you need a lot of time to process something like this). The important part is that I ended happy. That’s how I know that I enjoyed this ending, no matter what other people are saying, I am happy that House ended this way.

All of that was just feeling all zen from the finale and en ending to an 8 year long show that has received so much praise over the years. In a few days, I will probably be mad that the show’s gone and will continuously wonder: Where else am I going to see Hugh Laurie’s blue eyes? Who will teach the people everybody lies?? How will we know that it’s never lupus??!

Oh House, I will miss you. P.S: Wilson, your black leather jacket was slick!

Remember that time when…..#I<3OTH

Hey Internetz! I miss talking to ya, it’s been so long – so soorryyy. May brings season finales, but it also drags intense (because I procrastinate a lot – what do you think i’m doing now?) exam weeks along with it.

Anyway, this random post exists because I cannot spam my twitter followers with what I’m going to proceed to type – they might think I’m crazy. I love One Tree Hill like so many fans out there. A day doesn’t go by where we don’t think about Tree Hill. Lots of things have ended this year, and we’re only 5 MONTHS in – it’s crazy.

Besides OTH, Chuck and Desperate Housewives have ended, and House is ending in a few days :'(. If you go beyond series finales, there’s also a slew of cancellations to the point where I even felt sad for shows I didn’t even watch before. All in all though, I am not going to apologize for feeling smug that Hart of Dixie & Nikita LIVE ON – sacrifices needed to be made (R.I.P. The Secret Circle and Ringer). Shows I did watch that unfortunately got the ‘falling axe of doom’ were The Finder and Alcatraz. Not really affected by the Alcatraz news to be honest. The plot was definitely thrilling, and the season finale had a good cliffhanger, but somewhere along the way I just lost interest. The show wasn’t bad, maybe it’s just not my genre. Regarding The Finder – that sucked. It was just your regular everyday show, nothing that great, but it was relaxing and there was every element of quirky attached to it.

Conclusion: just like humans, tv shows die – it’s the circle of life. One thing I refuse to get over is the cancellation of FlashForward – why network executives?? WHY?!

I’m ranting…and have lost track of the main point of the post. Without further a do, do you Remember that time…..:

  • when Nathan and Lucas take a road trip to Charlotte and the cassette gets stuck in the stereo. Then at the end they start singing “Holiday. Holiday, it’s the best day, it’s an ice cream day. I’m only happy, when I have, Holiday holiday holiday holiday”
  • when Brooke, pregnant Haley, and Quinn dress up as “superheroes”
  • when Quinn makes POT BROWNIES!
  • when Logan calls Quinn “mom” *singletear*
  • when Quentin and Jamie dance to “In the Ayer”
  • when Lucas sits in the airport and imagines his life with either Brooke, Peyton, or Lindsay
  • when all the girls get trapped in the library while the game is going on
  • when the Tree Hill Ravens win the championships and throughout all the chaos Lucas and Peyton kiss
  • when Keith gets shot *alotoftears*
  • when Chris Keller was there (every moment of him is awesome, duh)
  • when Brooke and Julian got married :’)
  • when Julian saved Brooke and Jamie from drowning
  • when the car crashed off the bridge in the season 3 finale
  • when Whitey and Keith would share a drink in his office (basically every moment when they were together in his office then)
  • when Dan and Rachel were married! (ew)
  • when Nathan stripped at the boytoy auction
  • when Peyton and Brooke teamed up to take down PsychoDerek (girl power all the waaayyyy)
  • when Millie debuts as a model with “ZERO IS NOT A SIZE”
  • when Chase makes a bad drink (every time – love him!)
  • when Brooke was a CLEAN TEEN!
  • when Jamie competes in a race car competition
  • when Mia asked the girls to pick her new album cover at Peyton’s baby shower
  • when Brooke adopts a sick baby (isn’t she the best?)
  • when Lucas and Peyton rode off into the sunset with their new baby (Y U NO STAY TILL SEASON 9?!!)
  • when Nathan starts playing slamball (like…wuuttt?)
  • when Lucas and Peyton divide the house into their own respective sides
  • when all the girls dance to “Wannabe”
  • when Mouth would be a commentator of the games at the Rivercourt
  • when Jamie was the smartass kid with the best one-liners and the advice to solve all the adult problems
  • when the gang takes a trip to that place which snows (thus resulting in a “snow day” montage)
  • when Nathan and Haley first kissed
  • when Clay proposed to Quinn with a Green Lantern ring

And that’s just off the top of my head! I have YET to complete my One Tree Hill marathon (currently at season 2), so stay tuned for more ‘why i love one tree hill’ memories 🙂

Tell me your favorite moments in the comments below!

TV Thoughts of the Week: The Voice, One Tree Hill, and more!

Hey everybody, it’s time to talk to TV, let’s get started shall we:

Once Upon a Time

Being honest here, the episode kind of bored me. A dwarf and a fairy, really? The only cool part was when we got to see Emilie de Ravin. I did enjoy the back story of the dwarves though, like how they got their names. I’m also just waiting for Emma to find out that Sydney is on team evil witch.

Smash

This, this was a good episode. Full of sass, forbidden love, and dinner. Remember last week when I didn’t really see the point of Julia and Michael going through the same thing all over again. Yeh who cares!! It’s good drama, and let’s face it, all of us got swept up in it. I totally rooting for Michael. Plus, Frank is so boring…and not good-looking. Sucks that Leo saw though, I think he’s going to confront Julia but not tell Frank. We shall see, we shall see. Speaking of Leo, isn’t Tom like the best friend ever? Good guy he is. For those of you that hate Ellis just as much as I do, one of the reasons this was a good episode was because he was hardly in it right? Was so glad. We were subjected to watch more of Ivy’s insecurities with Derek and with Karen. And well, can we really blame her? I’d be on edge too if my competition stuck around and had to show me how to do things and if my boyfriend had a heart of ice.

90210

Not much to say about 90210, it is what is it ya know. My main thought was…how rich did Annie look with straight hair you guys?!! AND, go Naomi! She’s just trying her best to be successful, she saved Jen when it mattered most, and now she might have a billionaire by her side? She’s awesome. Liam needs to stick to tending bar, and I’m just waiting for his “girlfriend” to get out of the picture already.

The Voice

Battle rounds began this week! YEAH! Chris Cauley vs Tony Lucca. Yes, Tony Lucca needs it more, but I wanted Chris and his red pants to win!! RaeLynn vs Adley, I was on team Adley. RaeLynn is way to young, and that whole speech that comes along with it. So yeah, wasn’t happy when Blake picked her. Also, MAJOR product placement much when Miranda called RaeLynn on her way to the battle rounds. Chris Mann vs Monique Benabou. I was on the fence about this one, so I was okay with Cristina’s decision to pick Chris. He’s definitely a force to be reckoned with. Angie vs Chessa. Yeh, i wanted Angie to win. She’s badass you guys! and did you see that scene where she was talking all military with Ne-Yo? It was epic. Bryan vs Jordis. The judges were right, this performance sucked, but glad Jordis won. Hopefully, she can bring it. AND THEN, the last battle of the episode! Anthony Evans vs Jesse Campbell. This was a cool battle, Jesse won, which was predictable in some sense. So as you can see, I suck at picking winners.

Psych

Soooooo creepy. But how awesome was it to see Lassie go crazy 😀

One Tree Hill

OTH *grins* HALEY IS SO KICKING ASS!! AND DAN IS SO USEFUL AS A MURDERER!!! The episode was INTENSE, but had many one-liners to lighten the mood, like “return those clothes back to Deb” haha. Still no scenes with Nathan, fingers crossing he’s not dead. Logan rejected Clay as his dad 😦 and do we really blame him? I just hope he’ll forgive Clay and they can all be a happy family. Chuck and Chase….there’s a stable relationship. All the Chuck scenes make me miss Jamie so much though. Inspired by Haley, Brooke & Julian decided to take matters into their own hands as well. Unfortunately, that turned out HORRIBLY and ended with creepy Xavier creeping all over Davis….things are getting dark. A season like we’ve never season before. Just leaves me speechless thinking about everything that has happened.

Well that’s all for this week, check back next week for more. Thanks you guys!

TV Thoughts of the Week: Gossip Girl, White Collar, One Tree Hill & More!

Hey there! Sorry it’s been a while, just a lack of inspiration lately and a lot of schoolwork. Thank god this week of TV broke that spell. It’s been a good week, not as many shows as usual, but all really good quality content episodes. Let’s get started shall we:

Gossip Girl

When did Gossip Girl get so entertaining? This has got to be my favorite season of GG so far, ever since the 100th episode, the show has definitely moved up on my list and it’s now a priority to watch. I enjoy all the Blair plotlines, she’s really shined this season and Serena is sort of put on the back burner (and not really happy about it); but it’s fair if you take into account all of Serena’s major plotlines which have a giant range where as in Blair’s life it’s mostly about the men and the power. I FINALLY like Charlie/Ivy now that she has all the money. She talks about how the Rhodes are the nicest for taking her in, and it was mean to blatantly kick them out. I get it though, they have accused her of so many things, and it’s time to play dirty. Serena’s dad is Lola’s dad?! That’s weird…that’s a weird family.

House

Park on LSD. Nuff’ said. Plus, anytime we get to see Dominika is always fun.

The Voice

The blind auditions have officially completed, and next week the battle rounds start. It’s going to be great, but so many tough decisions. The judges have been picky this season, and it’s resulted in a lot of amazing talent. When they showed the recap of all the contestants on each team, I remembered almost all. So yeah…go unique people!

How I Met Your Mother

Aren’t Barney’s storylines always the best? I loved all the quips he made at the last scene in the coffee shop. Overall, the whole episode was good. Any episode that moves towards the main storyline is just nice to watch. Extra information: they are going to be revealing Barney’s future wife at the end of the season (or sooner) if I’m not mistaken.

Smash

Adele. Done. (I really wish I didn’t have anything else to say right now…) Anyway, Ivy is only sleeping with Derek to get some feeling of being “safe” right? And the whole Michael and Julia major eye contact in every scene….you think they’re going to pursue that? Both of them have families and they’ve gone down that road before….i guess at the end of the day, passion is passion. Do you guys like Ellis? I hate Ellis, and bare with me on this mini rant I’m going to go on now. He’s so frustrating, like I see why the show needs him – he’s a catalyst so other things can happen. I totally understand Julia’s point of view. You’re Tom assistant’s, maybe you should assist more instead of eavesdropping and stealing!! Do me a favor and go away, Ellis.

White Collar

ohhh myyy gawdd! WHAT AN AMAZING SEASON FINALE! Can you believe it’s been four seasons? I feel like it was just yesterday that we all saw Neal breaking out of prison. Neal’s family storyline has been opened up, and their probably going to slowly uncover his roots in the next season. Peter signalling Neal at the end was perfection. Kramer can suck it!! Alas, things have ramifications in the FBI so we’ll see what happens next season. Another thing i specifically enjoyed about this episode was this:

He looked so good at his commutation hearings! I love his eyes.

Modern Family

Fun of them to issue the “women on their mensies” problem haha. Phil, as usual, was stellar. He really is the star of the show i tell ya.

Psych

Back with season 6.5! My favorite episode of Despereux so far. Was interesting to see Shawn crumble when death strikes. Lassiter was mean, as usual. I would’ve enjoyed more Jules-Shawn time though.

One Tree Hill

I have an issue. We are seeing Haley going through the worst time of her life, and everybody else is just pitying her. Yes, obviously she’s affected the most but come on! All of y’all are Nathan’s best friends, where’s your remorse? Also, anyone else get teary eyed during Haley’s voiceover before checking the body? Nathan is such a great guy!!!

This Xavier guy needs to get gone folks, what if he attacks Brooke again :[ this week, they also brought back a slew of characters, which just translates into “farewell! we’re leaving your tv screens real soon” for me.

Last week, I tweeted:

Boy did that come back to haunt me this week (And yes I know ‘mental hospital’ is not accurate). When they showed that flashback, and Logan’s name written on the wall in the form of clouds….my heart sank into stomach. Thinking about it now as I’m writing it, my stomach just feels sick. Clay forgot he had a son. I really don’t know what else to say. And I’m not dissing this storyline, I’m in awe in the face of it.

Chuck watching Chase beat his father to death….yea….I see why they couldn’t show us Nathan in this episode, there were just too many other things going on.

Update: 5 out of 6 mysteries solved. We have seen: Haley at the morgue, Chase in the police car, Quinn & Clay fighting, Brooke trashing a place, and Julian getting beat up. Only thing left is the Dan & Chris Keller connection.

5 more episodes till the series finale, start saying your goodbyes/obtaining all previous seasons of One Tree Hill to re watch.

That’s all for this week, quite a bit of shows are on a short hiatus so next week won’t be packed as well. Thanks everybody!

Random TV Thoughts & What Not

Hola amigos! How’s everybody doing today? I am currently in the IT lab in school, last period; and my teacher’s not here. Since I was dying of boredom, just thought I’d blog.

Lots of random little thoughts about what’s been going on in the TVuniverse, and sharing isn’t a crime so here it is (MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS):

  • Did everyone catch this week’s episode of House? If you didn’t, RUN, AND WATCH. Another game changing episode. Good directing, writing, and acting. Greg Yaitanes, who’s been directing on House since 2008, left his mark with this episode as he has left to work on another show.
  • Hugh Laurie, David Shore & Katie Jacobs made an executive decision to end House in May. I respect that, but who’s going to teach the population that Everybody Lies?
  • Next week is The Fire & Ice Ball on Revenge!!!! YEAH! Besides that, the big shocking moment on this week’s episode is that someone stole Emily’s box 😮 I wasn’t really jumping out of my seat about this. It is extremely scary and disturbing to think about who ELSE could put the Revenge in Revenge like Emily Thorne can. I’m hoping it’s someone from the past we haven’t met before. That might not be the case since everyone seems to have a psycho alter ego on this show. P.S: i loved daniel more when he was drunk in college talking poetry
  • The Voice! It’s back! And it’s lengthy; and the only reason I watch is because the concept is entertaining and the judges make me laugh so much
  • This week’s HIMYM episode was just alright for me. I expected more probably. In true HIMYM fashon, it was still damn interesting 🙂
  • Did you guys watch Smash? GIANT HYPE. but deserving of it. I was confused because they actually premiered it earlier 1/2 weeks before the Superbowl and that’s when I watched the first episode. Nevertheless, I can’t wait for the second episode next week!
  • Modern Family came back this week better than ever, I enjoyed the episode so much. Especially the whole shenanigan with Manny’s friend “Danielle” haha. And of course, the Phil & Claire storyline. One of their bests for me.
  • ONE TREE HILL!!!! Their depriving us of Nathan on the last season. They are either EVIL or have a REALLY GOOD plot line!! It’s exciting and sad at the same time la. The scenes we saw in the first episode are revealing themselves. According to my count, that’s 3 out 6 mysteries solved. I have this creepy feeling that Chuck’s dad has something to do with Nathan’s disappearance.
  • I actually have this idea for a new segment I wanna do on TechnoCastle. Been busy with homework lately, and I need a title for it, but yeh…hoping it’ll come out eventually (hint: it’s about spoilers).

2012 has so far been associated with the ending of Chuck and the soon to be ending Desperate Housewives, One Tree Hill, and now House. Pretty sad, but my what an amazing run all these shows have had! Makes me kind of think though…it feels like all the shows that are on their 8th or 9th seasons are coming to an end real soon (dear god, please let Grey’s Anatomy continue). It also feels like not many shows can actually get to their 8th or 9th season. Chuck ended after 5 seasons. Psych announced that they’ve been renewed for its 7th season, which is awesome. They also said that Psych is officially the longest running show on USA Network. Some shows just know when to leave, but what about the all the others we wishec could stay longer? Whenever a show is conceived no one can ever predict where it’ll go. How long it’ll stay. And I understand that completely, it’s truly amazing how everything works out, but tell me at a show (not comedy shows) that’s say currently in it’s 3rd/4th season right now; do you believe that this show will reach 8 or 9 seasons?

That’s just my point of view (and fears) at this time, hopefully it’ll pass. Anyway, school is over so I’m going to head on home to start downloading today’s shows. Hugs to all!
